Whitnall School District: Announces School Board Academy

WHITNALL SCHOOL BOARD ANNOUNCES



“SCHOOL BOARD ACADEMY”

The Whitnall School Board will
be holding its School Board Academy on November 18, at the Whitnall School
District Community/Board Room, 5000 S. 116th St., Greenfield at 6:30
p.m. 



            The purpose of the Academy is to afford residents in the
school district the opportunity to gather information about the Whitnall schools
and the Whitnall school board.  This
information may be very helpful for a citizen who is considering running for a
position on the school board.  Participants
will be presented with background information about the Whitnall School
District on topics such as the structure of the Whitnall School District, major
issues facing our schools, the budget process, and legislative requirements regarding
schools.  There will also be a discussion
regarding the responsibilities of board members, the time commitment involved,
the structure and decision-making process of a school board, and the State of
Wisconsin’s open meetings law.

Academy is open to all citizens at no cost.

The Whitnall School District is located in the
southwest corner of Milwaukee County and is comprised of parts of the cities of
Greenfield and Franklin and all of the Village of Hales Corners.  The District serves 2,413 students, assigned
to two 4K-5 elementary schools, one 6-8 middle school, and one high school.



The mission of the school district is as
follows:  By providing the highest
quality personalized educational experience, the Whitnall School District
engages learners who embrace challenges and are responsible contributing
members of a dynamic global society.
