City's Holiday Lights Contest Winners Announced

The Greenfield Beautification Committee selected the top three decorated homes.

This year marks the 13th consecutive year of the Greenfield Beautification Committee’s Holiday Lights Contest. Each year, committee judges select the three best decorated homes. The judges actually drive every street in the area to choose their candidates.

The area judged alternates from east to west each year. This year we judged the western half of Greenfield (west of 76th Street). Judging took place in mid-December. Winners received a framed award certificate and photo postings on the Committee website: WWW.GBCINFO.ORG  .

The Herman Family 3958 S. 97th St.

The Hermann display starts with a large lighted wreath and a doorway outlined in lights. Reindeer, candy canes and lighted bushes complete the scene.

The Enea Family 4835 S. 82nd St.

The Enea household fills the front yard with several lighted reindeer and numerous evergreens covered in lights. Lighted wreaths in second story windows add to the festive feel.

The Snyder Family 9325 W. Carpenter

The Snyder yard is filled with lighted cutouts of a manger scene next to a set of reindeer in front of lighted evergreens. Lighted candy canes line the driveway.

The Greenfield Beautification Committee is a volunteer organization that also conducts a Landscape Award contest in the summer and Arbor Day in the spring among other civic projects.
