Sports-Themed Men's Haircut Shop Opens on 76th Street

With sports memorabilia covering the walls, leather recliners in the lobby, beautiful women greeting you at the door and 12 HDTVs tuned to sports, sports and more sports, Lady Jane’s Haircuts for Men looks more like a sports bar.

And though you can’t down a cold one, Lady Jane’s still makes for a perfect “man cave,” one in which you just so happen can get your hair cut.

Greenfield’s Lady Jane’s, 4975 S. 76th St., opened Monday across the parking lot shared by Barnes & Noble in what used to be a second-hand media exchange store.

The chain began as a single shop in Saint Clair Shores, Mich., in 2004, but Lady Jane’s have been popping up across the country in the last several months with locations in Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, New York and North Carolina. Ten more states, including Minnesota, are expected to add Lady Jane’s in 2013, and California and Arizona will see them in 2014, according to the company’s website.

The new Greenfield shop is one of three Wisconsin locations; the others are 1010 W. Layton Ave. in Milwaukee and 2086 Miller Park Way in West Milwaukee.

Mixing sports and haircuts is not a new concept; Sports Clips has over 900 locations across the country, including one just down the road from Lady Jane's.

Greenfield's Lady Jane's is open Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.;  Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
