Whitnall Varsity Soccer Season Starts Off on Solid Note

Undefeated in conference, the Lady Falcons are preparing for a run at the Woodland Conference title.

Although only three games into the season, the Whitnall girls varsity soccer team is already eyeing a successful year and a chance at the Woodland Conference title.

The Falcons are currently 1-2 (1-0 in conference). Despite two early losses the team is optimistic about its young season. The Falcons had much success last year (4-6-1) and look to improve and possibly take the conference crown.

“The first and foremost goal is to win conference," captain Gabbie Weis said. "That’s any team’s number one goal. But more importantly, to improve with each and every game.”

This season means different roles and new responsibilities for players. However, there are many returning starters who are ready to lead the Lady Falcons on the field.

“The team looks up to you, and you have to be the example you want them to follow after you are gone. On and off the field, being a captain is a commitment.  If you do your job, they will do theirs,” Weis added.
