Greenfield's 4th of July Celebration is Rapidly Approaching

Celebrate the the 4th of July with the City of Greenfield! It will be here sooner than you think, so start planning now.

Celebrate America's birthday with the City of Greenfield's 4th of July Celebration!

The 2011 4th of July Celebration is a festival where you can sample the many businesses and organizations that the City of Greenfield is proud to have as part of its community. The celebration will be held Monday, July 4, rain or shine, at Konkel Park from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

This family-friendly event features the debut of Dunn's Sporting Good's Softball Tournament. The parade starts winding its way down the 1 mile route on Layton Ave to Konkel Park at noon with honorary Grand Marshals, Police Chief Francis Springob and Fire Chief Russ Spahn, the UW Marching Band, Greenfield High School Jr. R.O.T.C. Color Guards and Marching Band, Klement's Racing Sausages, a Bike Decorating Contest and so much more! Fire Chief Spahn will inspire us with his rendition of our national anthem followed by the UW Marching Band's signature 5th Quarter Performance.

A few firsts for the celebration, an Extrication Demonstration by the Greenfield and Milwaukee Fire Departments and Ruby Tuesdays Hospitality Relay Race, and complimentary caricatures by David Fliss. Returning will be competitive rounds of bingo hosted by the Greenfield Jaycees and, of course, Bakers Square's Pie Eating Contest. There will be plenty of attention-grabbers for the kids at the KidZone, Bill Code the DJ will keep us going until our headline band, Rhythm Method, starts at 6 p.m. All topped off with fireworks from the City of Greenfield!
