Do You Need Some Free Fill?

A Greenfield gal bites off more than she can chew in landscaping . . . and escapes by chewing the fat about the Food Network!

A few weeks ago, my mom and I got a BIG delivery. One that was great in some respects, and not so great in others. We got 14 yards of clean fill delivered to our driveway! Great for the landscaping work we had to do around our Greenfield home; not so great for our backs! But, we've been diligently working on dispensing the fill to the areas we need it around our house and are quickly coming to realize that we have way. too. much. dirt! I'm hoping to turn this into a win-win situation for us and for YOU, Greenfield!

We have free clean fill available in our driveway - you haul it, you can have it! Leave me a comment if you're interested and I'll get you the address.

In other news, I indulged in rewatching a movie favorite the other day: Julie & Julia. I fancy myself a better cook than I'm sure I am, but I'm always watching the Food Network (or HGTV; see above). Now, I'm more of a simple gal; I probably wouldn't eat half of the food the Food Network chefs prepare on air, but there's something about that station that just hooks me. There are very few shows on air that I don't like and won't watch (anyone else out there wish Susie would have won Food Network Star a few weeks back?).

At any rate, I love TV about food, so a movie about food was right up my alley. I loved it in the theaters and rushed out to get it soon after it came out on DVD. I did try to read Julie Powell's book but, well, I hated it. So much so that I actually returned it to Barnes & Noble and, when the book seller asked me if anything was wrong with the book, I said that it was really poorly written and I really disliked it. Surprisingly enough, I wasn't the only customer to say something along those lines to that particular book seller!

So, Greenfield, do your yard work and your landscaping (get your free fill from me!) and then relax with the true delight that is Julie & Julia. I can't think of a better way to spend Labor Day weekend!
