Using TV to Tell the Day of the Week

A talk-back post about TV, music and shopping. Share your thoughts with this blogger!

First things first: this crazy business about death threats against Gov. Walker and the threats of shredding the recall petitions? So. Wrong. Honestly. Come on now.

I'm not a fan of the recall effort (or recalls in general) and I wouldn't sign a recall petition regardless, but threatening to shred the ballots is just plain wrong. As is someone making death threats. Where are we, China?

Folks, come on. If you're strongly opposed to Gov. Walker (or any other public or political figure in office, for that matter) the proper thing to do is join a campaign during election season. Support your candidate of choice. Volunteer to help get out the vote. That's how democracy works. Not this crazy threat business.

I know, I know. I'm off my general topic of entertainment. I'll get right to it - but I needed to get that political business taken care of first.

So then! I realize that I can now tell what day of the week it is by what's on TV. Wrong, I know! So wrong! But I don't (would never!) let TV programming dictate my life. I mean, really, that's what the DVR is for, right? (*wink*)

For example? If I tune in and see "Dancing With the Stars," "Castle" or "Hoarders," well, then, it's Monday. Is there a new episode of "Glee" on? Tuesday it is! What about Wednesday, you ask? "Top Chef" and "Extreme Couponing." (You can't count "General Hospital," that's on Monday - Friday and is bound to trip any TV fan up if you try and tell the days of the week by that.)

What are your favorite shows? Do you wait all week for "The Amazing Race" and "The Next Iron Chef" like I do? (Though, I'll tell ya, "The Amazing Race" stresses. me. out! Seriously!)

What are your seasonal favorites? How about music? When do you bring out the holiday music? (Me? The day after Thanksgiving. Up until then, I'll be listening to the first half of Christina Perri's "Lovestrong." or Sara Bareilles's "Kaleidoscope Heart." Or I might put in the first CD of the audio book I picked up on sale at - You Can't Drink All Day if You Don't Start in the Morning. Review forthcoming!)

And the big question: where are YOU going on Black Friday? Can't wait to hear from you all!
