Alverno's Gorman Named All-NAC First Team, Speerschneider Honorable Mention

Alverno College's Devon Gorman has been named to the All-Northern Athletics Conference First Team as the league announced the awards for the 2012-13 season selected by the league's head coaches.

Alverno College's Devon Gorman has been named to the All-Northern Athletics Conference First Team as the league announced the awards for the 2012-13 season selected by the league's head coaches.

Additionally, Kristen Speerschneider received honorable mention.

Gorman (Mosinee, Wis.) led Alverno with a 12.6 scoring average, a team-high 8.0 rebounds per game and eight double-doubles. Defensively, the junior forward averaged 2.3 steals and 0.8 blocked shots per contest.

Speerschneider (New Franken, Wis./Luxemburg-Casco) averaged 9.7 points, 3.1 assists and 2.5 steals per game. The junior point guard led the conference with a 1.9 assist-turnover ratio, which currently ranks 18th in NCAA Division III.

The Inferno finished tied for second in the NAC North Division and won a school-record 16 games with a 16-10 overall record, 13-5 in the NAC. Alverno ended the season with a loss to host Benedictine in a NAC tournament quarterfinal game.
