The Northern Athletics Conference released the awards for the 2011 women's volleyball season this morning and Alverno College's Reagan Owen (Salina, Kan./Central) was named to the All-NAC Second Team.

Additionally, she was selected as the Alverno representative to the All-Sportsmanship Team. The NAC All-Sportsmanship Team included one member from each school that was chosen based on the principles of sportsmanship as promoted by the NAC and NCAA.

"I am very proud of Reagan," Alverno head coach Paul Lawson said. "She led two very important parts of our game -- our serve-receive pattern and our defensive pattern -- and I'm blessed to have her play for Alverno."

Owen becomes the first Inferno volleyball player to receive a conference accolade since Bec Schmid received NAC honorable mention in 2006, and the first to be named all-conference since Eren Turk was selected to the All-Lake Michigan Conference Team in 2004.

The Inferno's (4-28, 0-12 NAC) four victories this year were more than the last three seasons' combined total (3). The team also set single-season school records with 1,690 digs and 131 block assists.
