A pair of solid pitching efforts and strings of hits guided visiting Alverno College to a 17-3 and 6-1 sweep of host Milwaukee School of Engineering in a Northern Athletics Conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon.

The Inferno's third-straight win brings the team's overall record back to .500 at 16-16, and are now 8-14 in NAC play.

In game one, Jamie Villalobos (7-10) pitched four innings of no-hit ball before the Raiders (4-28, 2-22 NAC) led off the bottom of the fifth with a single for their first base runner of the day. The senior lefty picked up the complete-game victory as she scattered five hits, struck out five and allowed three runs -- just two of which were earned.

The game was shorted to six innings due to the eight-run rule, as Alverno scored in five of the innings off 16 hits, which included a nine-run sixth.

Villalobos did her part with the bat as well, as she was one of six Inferno players with multiple hits in the game with a 3-for-4 performance. Ashleigh Sagat and Erika Wotnoske each had three hits and three RBIs, while Sam KasprzakMegan Rossi andStef Wilmore added two hits apiece. Rossi hit her first-career triple in the Inferno's four-run third inning, and had a leadoff double in the fifth.

Erin Dulek (5-3) followed Villalobos' performance in the circle with a gem in game two. Dulek fanned nine Raider batters, and was tagged for just four hits and a run in the victory.

Sagat and Emily Ortner had two hits apiece and accounted for half of the Inferno's eight hits. Ortner bagged a double and a triple in her four at bats, while Wilmore added a three-bagger to lead off the fifth inning.

Alverno plays its final nonconference series of the season Monday as it hosts crosstown foe Cardinal Stritch University at 3:30 p.m. at Alverno Field.
