How to Care for Your Easter Lilies After the Holidays

Want your Easter lilies to last a long time? New Patch blogger Kathy Bondar has a few simple tips that can make it happen.

How to care for your lilies after the holidays:

Keep them well-watered. If they came in a foil wrapper, remove now and place in a saucer to catch any drainage. Do not let the plant reabsorb the water that ran thru the plant.

As your buds continue to open, remove yellow pollen sacs from the flower as they can stain anything they touch. This will also assist the flowers in a longer bloom time.

Most lilies are grown especially for the Easter season and normally bloom in July. You can try moving them outdoor when the weather warms; but bring them back in before frost. Enjoy!!

Steve, go down to the "village square" burn a blue fist. Or, maybe in front of WAL-MART.
