School Is Around The Corner and Our 4K Children Embark on a New Journey

With school starting just two short weeks away, as a mother of a child going into 4K, I wonder how other parents are feeling about their children starting out on this new life experience.

As the days go by we have bought school supplies, school clothes, waited on letters from the school to determine a.m or p.m. classes, and done things with our children to make the end of their summer memorable.

With my son starting 4K Sept. 1 at , I have found myself a little sad and nervous. I'm a stay-at-home mom and have been with him day in and day out since birth so I know him starting school will not only make me proud, but will make me a little sad when I leave him there and can't stay.

I guess sometimes, just like a bird, you have to let your child spread their wings a little and let them experience things and grow for themselves while we watch from the sidelines. I am proud to watch my son grow, make new friends and learn even if it means not being there to watch it happen every step of the way. Welcome to being a parent of a school-aged child.
