Discovery the beauty of the Boerner Botanical Gardens with these in-depth tours.

Two more “Boerner Through the Seasons, 2011 Garden Walks” with Melinda Myers remain at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners, and space is limited, so sign up today.

The series, facilitated by the Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens, will feature in-depth tours of Boerner Botanical Gardens, part of the Gold Medal winning Milwaukee County Parks System. Join Melinda to explore beautiful ideas you can replicate right in your own backyard throughout the season.

July 13, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. - Summer Blooms, Birds and Butterflies

We’ll explore ideas for enhancing your landscape by adding colorful blooms that will welcome in the birds and butterflies, making your gardens a place for all to enjoy!

October 15, 2011 at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. - Autumn’s Brilliance

Enjoy the color, fragrance and sounds of fall and find ways to incorporate the plants that provide them into your landscape.  We’ll take a look at trees, shrubs, perennials and of course ornamental grasses that can provide a colorful finale to the growing season.

Note: For the January & October walks, the Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens will offer free simultaneous activities and snacks for children (ages 3-9), freeing their parents to enjoy the Saturday winter and fall nature walks.

To register, please call 414-525-5659. Admission is $20 per class for members of the Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens (FBBG), and $25 for non members. Class size is limited, so please register early

Editor's note: Nationally known gardening expert Melinda Myers has 30 years of horticulture experience and has written over 20 gardening books, including Can’t Miss Small Space Gardening and Month by Month Gardening in Wisconsin. She hosts the nationally syndicated “Melinda’s Garden Moment” which airs on 50 network TV stations in the U.S., including on Today’s TMJ4 in Milwaukee.
