Whitnall Students Provide a Merrier Christmas

The AP Spanish students at Whitnall high school are donating to less fortunate mothers at the 16th Street Clinic.

Today marks the last day to donate items to the 16th Street Clinic here in the Spanish classrooms at Whitnall High School.

This is a tradition at Whitnall High School for the AP Spanish classes that donate to less fortunate mothers.

The AP Spanish students are asking for five things in particular: money, bath items, food, clothes, and diapers. These items are all greatly needed from these mothers and they really appreciate all the effort the students put in to make their lives more enjoyable for the holiday season.

The students will be going to the clinic on Dec. 12, to donate the hundreads of dollars worth of items.

“It really makes me feel great to know that we are helping these mothers out during this time of year, and to know that their Christmas will be a little more merry,” senior AP Spanish student Nitalia Dinon said.

To make sure that this stays competitive, whichever class donates the most items will be rewarded with a fiesta. When the students know that they will get to forget about Spanish for a day and be able to party they will do almost anything! Even though it is all for a good cause, things can get a little heated.

Senior Mitchell Molbeck, also known as Ignacio does not mess around and said, “Yeah, things are getting very competitive between the AP Spanish classes here at Whitnall but hey, it's all for a good cause so what’s so bad about a few friendly feuds?"

After all of these donations have been made the classes have donated hundreds of dollars worth to all of these less fortunate.
