Remember the cross-dressing bank robber ?

Well, here’s an update.

Anthony Carrington Hooks, a 24-year-old Milwaukee man, was arrested by the Glendale and Milwaukee police departments Aug. 29, after allegedly robbing another TCF branch in the North Shore area.

Hooks was charged with five counts of robbery of a financial institution Sept. 13, to which he pled not guilty. Nine days later, public defender Rosemary Reyes Cuevas, who had been assigned the case, withdrew due to a “conflict of interest in her office,” a move that postponed a status conference on Hooks’ case from Oct. 5 to Oct. 18.

According to a story done by WISN 12, Hooks allegedly made robbing TCF banks a monthly occurrence. He started with a Milwaukee branch in April, made his way to Greenfield in May and then Glendale in June.

Last month, CBS reported Hooks was part of a bank robbery crew that hit several banks over the summer leading to the FBI's involvement. News Radio 620 reported the members of the six-person crew were loosely associated but that not all six knew each other.

Hooks is in custody and a cash bond of $20,000 was set by the court Sept. 4.
