Greenfield police are investigating a rash of uncommon thefts from vehicles that occurred last week, most of them in the same parking lot of a Greenfield apartment complex.
According to the incident log, police responded to more than a dozen reports of vehicle emblems or insignias removed and stolen between July 23-27.
All thefts occurred at the Briarwick Pool Apartments in the 8800 block of West Waterford Square and the 3900 block of South 92nd Street.
The thefts included emblems from several makes and models, including Toyota, Chevrolet and Hyundai. Most of the emblems were ripped off the trunks, though some were taken from hubcaps and other parts of vehicles.
According to Police Chief Brad Wentlandt, the department hasn’t had a reported emblem theft in “probably 15 years and we haven’t heard of any in the area.”
If you have any information about the stolen emblems, call Greenfield police at 761-5300.
