Ivan Ruiz-Guerrero was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with one count of felony robbery following an incident at BMO Harris Bank, 7600 W. Layton Ave., on July 19.
According to court documents, a woman heard footsteps of someone running toward her when she got out of her car in order to make a night deposit at the bank. It was then that Ruiz-Guerrero pushed her into her car and grabbed the bag, the criminal complaint said.
Ruiz-Guerrero ran off and got rid of his shirt and the bank bag in a garbage can at Kopp’s Frozen Custard across the street. The state crime lab collected a DNA sample from the collar of the shirt that identified Ruiz-Guerrero, according to the complaint.
If convicted, Ruiz-Guerrero faces a maximum of 15 years of
imprisonment, $50,000 in fines, or both.
