Police say they responded to a report of a man passed out in a bathroom at Dr. Dawg in Greenfield, 7700 W Layton Ave. on June 21.

The man, identified as Bremer, told police he went to the restaurant to pick up his paycheck and was scheduled to work at 5 p.m. He said he spoke with a friend earlier in the day about purchasing heroin, according to the criminal complaint.

Bremer met with the friend behind the building, started his shift at Dr. Dawg, and when business slowed, he went outside near some dumpsters and inhaled the heroin, he told police according to the criminal complaint.

But, he later told police a different story the court documents say, that he took the bus to his friend’s house in Brookfield, where he purchased about $40 in heroin, injected some and then took the bus to work.

Bremer said after he used the heroin at Dr. Dawg and began feeling the effects; he found his way into a bathroom where medical personnel first found him. He was transported to a hospital for treatment, the criminal complaint says.

Police say Bremer also had two strips of Suboxone on him.

Bremer was previously convicted of possession of narcotics in 2011, according to online court records.

If convicted, he could face up to three years and six months imprisonment, or $10,000 in fines, or both.
