Drunk Driver vs. SUV vs. Garage

Police respond to early morning call involving two vehicles and a garage.

A suspected drunk driver ran off the road in the 4600 block of West Morgan Avenue this morning, striking a parked SUV and pushing it into a concrete block garage, according to the Greenfield Police Department.

Police received calls about the crash at about 4:05 a.m. When they arrived, officers found a 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser that had been struck and propelled into a garage. Based on the structural damage to the garage, it may be a total loss, Deputy Inspector Brad Wentlandt said.

The suspect, a 25-year-old Greenfield man, was driving a 1991 Chevy Caprice when he smashed into the SUV and then fled the scene. Greenfield officers found him and his extensively damaged vehicle at his house in the 4600 block of West Crawford.
