Drunk Woman Calls 911 When Friend Takes Car Keys Away

Police responded to West Allerton Avenue in Greenfield, where a friend's attempt to stop drunk driving was not well-received.

A drunk woman called Greenfield Police early Saturday morning after her friend kept her from driving home, police said.

The incident started as a 911 hang-up call around 3:45 a.m. Saturday. When police checked on a residence in the 6900 block of West Allerton Avenue, they found the woman reportedly "highly intoxicated."

She told police that she called 911 when her friend took her keys away to prevent her from driving home.

Police convinced her to sleep at the friend's house.
