Facebook Post Leads to Drug Charges Against Greenfield High School Student

Suspect posted pictures and video of himself and other teens smoking marijuana on the social networking website.

A student is facing drug charges after a police officer noticed a friend of the suspect was apparently trying to buy drugs from him using Facebook.

The suspect also allegedly posted video of himself on the Internet smoking marijuana at a birthday party.

Justin J. Cervera, 17, of Milwaukee, was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Wednesday with one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. If convicted, he faces up to four years in prison and $11,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

On Aug. 30, a police liaison officer for the high school noticed another man posted, “I’ll take five,” on Cervera’s Facebook wall to which Cervera responded by posting on the other man’s wall, “Bro, call me ASAP.”

The officer assumed the post was related to purchasing drugs. He had also seen a video and pictures posted in June titled, “Reefer for my birthday party,” which showed the two teens and other juveniles smoking what appeared to be marijuana.

Later that day, the officer spotted the two walking in the 3600 block of South 43rd Street. He pulled over and asked them about the post. When asked if they had drugs on them, both responded no.

However, after the officer searched the teens, he discovered Cervera was carrying a prescription pill bottle containing amphetamine, dextroamphetamine, Diazepam and marijuana.

Cervera told the officer he got the drugs from a friend in West Allis two weeks prior to getting arrested.
