Father Chokes Mother in Front of Young Son, Police Say

A 12-year-old Greenfield boy called a family friend and asked that person to quickly call 911 because he thought his 34-year-old father was going to choke his mother to death, according to police.

According to court documents, the 34-year-old man, whose identity is being withheld by Patch to protect the suspect’s identity, became upset with his wife during an argument in the 5400 block of South Tuckaway Court on Aug. 17.

The man wrestled his wife to the ground and choked her until she lost consciousness, according to the criminal complaint.

The couple’s son saw the incident, called a family friend and told the friend to call 911 because his dad was going to kill his mom.

The 34-year-old man was charged with felony strangulation and suffocation – domestic abuse and disorderly conduct – domestic abuse, a misdemeanor, in Milwaukee County Circuit Court last week. He faces a maximum of 6 years and 3 months of imprisonment, $11,000 in fines or both.
