Greendale Man Charged with Fourth OWI in Greenfield

Suspect told police he had three shots at a friend's bar before driving.

A 36-year-old Greendale man is facing felony drunk driving charges after he was caught driving through Greenfield after taking shots at a friend’s bar.

Frank K. Miles Jr. was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of fourth offense operating while intoxicated within a five-year period and one count of operating a vehicle with a prohibited alcohol concentration. If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

On Oct. 3, Miles was pulled over by in the 4700 block of South 76th Street after an officer spotted him driving erratically on the road. He smelled of intoxicants and failed an eye test to determine if he was drunk.

Miles then refused further field sobriety tests due to medical conditions and told officers he drank three shots of alcohol at a friend’s bar earlier in the evening. He had a blood alcohol level of 0.195 at the time of the incident.

Miles was previously convicted of OWI in 1995, 2002 and 2007. He will make his initial appearance in court Dec. 8.
