Greenfield Firefighters Hope to 'Fill the Boot' With $35,000

Greenfield firefighters are participating in their annual "Fill the Boot" campaign for the Muscular Dystrophy Association Sept. 4-6.

Greenfield firefighters were out in full force at the busiest intersection in the city collecting money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on Wednesday.

The firefighters will be at the corner of Layton Avenue and 76th Street again Thursday and Friday, from about 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, for the annual "Fill the Boot" fundraising campaign.

Motorists are encouraged to donate to the cause by dropping money in the firefighters' boot. They are also urged to use caution while going through the intersection.
