UPDATE: Greenfield Firefighters Battle Late-Night House Fire

No injuries reported in blaze at home next to the Boot Connection on Layton Avenue.

The Greenfield Fire Department responded to a house fire around 11:30 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of 42nd Street and Layton Avenue.

The damaged house is right next to the Boot Connection, 4275 W. Layton Ave. A source told Greenfield Patch there were no known injuries. The fire was quickly brought under control, the department said.

Patch's media partners at WISN 12 News reported that an official with the Fire Department said the blaze started in the home's basement. Everyone was able to get out of the home safely, Greenfield police told the station.
