The victim informed police her step brother began assaulting her in 1999 when she was only 5 years old. He would have her play a game called “king and queens” and he would assault her in their home. Assaults continued to happen on a regular basis at their home and a relative’s home where he would emphasize to the victim the game was “our secret.”

The victim said there was another assault in 2002 where the man told her they would have “a sleepover” where he assaulted her while they both laid under a blanket.
