Jacobs took the cards while working at the Pewaukee home in November and went to various area businesses and bought gas, a printer, DVDs and other items. Police obtained a photo from one of the stores where the transaction took place and the victim identified Jacobs as someone who had done remodeling work at his him.

Jacobs admitted making the purchases to police, saying he found the credit cards sitting in a box of speaker wire when he took it out to his truck and he decided not to say anything. A woman’s engagement ring and collector’s note were also reported missing by the victim, but Jacobs denied taking those items.
