Greenfield Man Charged with Sexual Assault of a Child

The 61-year-old made his initial court appearance Friday morning.

A 61-year-old Greenfield man faces charges that he allegedly sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl, according to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office. 

The man was charged with first degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, according to the Wisconsin Court System database. The man, who is in police custody, made his initial court appearance Friday morning. 

Detective Sergeant Michael Brunner of the was hesitant to share much about the case.

"The problem is is that this is an ... 11-year-old girl who is being victimized here," he said during a brief phone conversation this afternoon. 

Sara Lewis, assistant district attorney in the sensitive crimes unit, said she finalized the complaint against the man this morning.
