Greenfield Man Tells Sheriff, 'Arrest Me, I'm Drunk,' Police Say

Two witnesses are credited with stopping the man after observing him drive erratically.

Two witnesses are being credited with helping the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department arrest a suspected four-time drunken driver.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, the witnesses say they saw Steven K. Piper, 44, of Greenfield narrowly avoid striking a wall, cross all lanes of traffic and almost strike several other cars while traveling southbound on US 41 at approximately 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The Sheriff’s Department  said the witnesses then stopped Piper’s car on the Canal Street off ramp, took the keys from the ignition and called 911. It is unclear how they stopped him from driving.
