The 40-year-old mother, who Patch is not naming to protect the identity of the children, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Thursday with burglary and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A warrant has been filed for the mother’s arrest. She faces up to 8-1/4 years if convicted.

An online business owner discovered on April 19 that $40,000 worth of sports memorabilia were missing from the storage locker at 2601 S. Moorland Road in New Berlin, the complaint states.

The Greenfield woman began selling items online and police learned she rented a storage locker on the same floor as the business owner, the complaint states. An officer made contact with the woman through Craigslist.

Before the officer met with the woman, though, undercover officers watched the woman load the boxes into a van and saw a 9-year-old boy get into the van with her, the complaint states. The woman used the boy to unload the boxes.

Surveillance footage of the burglary showed the woman entering the storage area with another man and three children, who were seen carrying out the stolen property, according to the complaint.

The other man also faces prosecution in the burglary.
