Greenfield Police Catch Woman With Cocaine, Marijuana

Police find the drugs with a Milwaukee woman during a December traffic stop on South 27th Street.

A 21-year-old Milwaukee woman is facing charges after she was caught in Greenfield with cocaine and marijuana inside a car.

Tia Lavett Williams was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Wednesday with one count of possession of cocaine and one count of possession of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. If convicted, she faces up to 1 ½ years in prison and $6,000 in fines.

On Dec. 3, a Greenfield police officer pulled over a car in the 3500 block of South 27th Street for driving with a broken rear wing window and expired temporary license plate. Williams, was sitting in the passenger seat of the car and before police began to search the vehicle, she said she had a bag of marijuana in her purse.

Police then searched the car and found a bag of cocaine base inside the glove box. Williams admitted to putting the cocaine in the glove box earlier in the night and said she planned to smoke the marijuana with the other people in the car.

She will make her initial appearance in court June 5.
