Greenfield Police Department Dogs Now on Facebook

Fans can "like" the pages of Canine Badger and Canine DJ and follow along as they help fight crime.

Just about everyone these days are into social networking, and we're not just talking about those folks with two legs.

The Greenfield Police Department's K-9 duo of Badger and DJ are now on Facebook, and fans of the dogs can get updates on big cases and public appearances by following their Facebook posts.

Badger's page can be found here and DJ's page is here. On either page, you can see great photos of the dogs and their handlers performing a demonstration at Dan Jansen Family Fest over the weekend. The pictures show the dogs apprehending "suspects" and being mobbed by little, adoring fans.

You also can learn interesting facts about the dogs. During one exchange with a Facebook fan, DJ revealed that he lives at home with his handler "to help maintain the bond we have and to help keep me socialized."

And Badger shows a bit of his humor on his page. When fan Chris Tentoni praised Badger for his keyboarding skills, saying he expected the dog to just pound away and produce an unreadable message, Badger responded by saying he uses a giant keyboard to accommodate his paws.

Badger also just helped the Milwaukee Police Department .

Officer Scott Zienkiewicz is Badger's  handler and Officer Eric Lindstrom is DJ's handler.
