Greenfield Woman Caused Crash that Led to Deputy's Arrest

A Greenfield woman is suspected of running a red light on Saturday, striking the car of a deputy who then fled the scene.

A Greenfield woman is suspected of causing a crash late Saturday in Wauwatosa, . There were no serious injuries, but the crash has stayed in the news all week because the driver of the struck car -- a Milwaukee County sheriff's deputy -- fled the scene. 

The deputy, a Wauwatosa resident, was arrested Sunday morning, 10 hours after the crash on Blue Mound Road. Wauwatosa Patch reports the deputy was driving north on 68th Street, planning to proceed across Blue Mound Road, with a green light. The Greenfield woman was headed west on Blue Mound, and ran a red light, striking the deputy's car. 

A Wisconsin State Patrol officer, stationed to watch Gov. Scott Walker's home, and an off-duty Milwaukee police officer driving behind the Greenfield woman, witnessed the crash. They saw the deputy walk away, and then run, as the state trooper approached.
