Greenfield Woman Charged With Running From West Allis Cops

Amanda Mageski told police she was scared because she's a heroin addict and had drug paraphernalia in her car when she was pulled over.

A Greenfield woman is facing charges after she allegedly fled from a West Allis police officer during a traffic stop because she didn’t want him to find her heroin paraphernalia.

Amanda Mageski, 24, was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Tuesday with one count of attempting to flee an officer. If convicted, she faces up to 3 ½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

On July 15, a West Allis police officer was near the intersection of South 76th Street and West Oklahoma Avenue when he spotted Mageski driving a Honda and running a red light while doing 70 miles per hour. The officer went after her and pulled her over in the 7400 block of West Beloit Road.

After the officer got out of his car, Mageski took off and sped away from the scene. The officer then traced the car back to Mageski’s parents who said she was driving it at the time.

Mageski admitted to fleeing during the traffic stop, saying she’s a heroin addict and was afraid of going to jail because she had paraphernalia in the car. She was assigned a $3,500 signature bond and ordered turned over to the JUSTICE 2000 program while awaiting trial.
