Judge Reschedules Plea Hearing For Man Accused Of Sexual Assault

Randall Herbst of Greenfield, facing first degree sexaul assault charge, is due back in court in late August.

A 61-year-old Greenfield man, accused of l, made a brief appearance Tuesday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, where he requested more time to enter a plea.

Circuit Court Judge Dennis Cimpl granted Randall Herbst five more weeks to plea to a charge of first degree sexual assualt of a child under the age of 13.

Herbst is now scheduled to plea on Aug. 24.

Herbst, who was wearing a checkered short-sleeved Oxford and slacks, was flanked by his attorney, Michael Hart, during the brief early morning hearing. He is free on a $2,500 cash bond.

According to the complaint against Herbst, he knew the girl from numerous past personal contacts.

In an interview with authorities, Herbst acknowledged that from the very end of December 2010 through April 28, 2011, there had been a number of occasions where he touched the child's buttocks or breasts at his residence, according to the complaint.
