Man Abuses Girlfriend During Rent Argument, Police Say

The 22-year-old Greenfield man pushed his girlfriend's face into a wall, pulled her hair and more, according to police.

A 22-year-old Greenfield man is accused of abusing his girlfriend after an argument about paying rent turned physical.

According to the Greenfield Police Department report, at about 3 p.m. Feb. 19, officers arrived at a home in the 3600 block of South 47th Street after receiving a call about an altercation between a boyfriend and girlfriend.

During the 911 call, dispatchers heard the woman scream “Stop, get the (expletive) out of the house, don’t touch me, don’t hit me.”

The mother of the 19-year-old victim told police the man often is physical with her daughter. Patch is not naming the man to protect the victim's identity. On Feb. 19, the mother reported to police, the couple had been in loud, verbal fights about paying rent. The mother told police her daughter told her boyfriend to leave, which made him angrier. He grabbed her by her head, according to reports, pulled her by the hair and appeared to punch her with a closed fist approximately three times on the head.

The victim also told police her boyfriend at one point grabbed her head and pushed it into the wall, scratching her face. While holding her head against the wall, he said to her, “Call the cops on me (expletive), I dare you. If I can’t have you, nobody can.”

The man was arrested for domestic violence – battery and also issued a citation for obstructing an officer after he lied to an officer about his name. He was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Feb. 21, with one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct-domestic abuse.
