Man Accused of Dragging Woman By Hair While Holding Child

The man also is accused of grabbing a necklace from around the woman's neck and ripping it off, causing several welts.

A 21-year-old Greenfield man is accused of dragging a woman around the room by her hair while holding the couple’s young child in the other arm.

According to the criminal complaint, the woman came to the man’s apartment in the 4000 block of South 35th Street on Feb. 15. Once there, she gave their child to the man so she could get some sleep.

The couple began to argue about how the man was taking care of the child. During the argument, the man, whose identity is not being revealed in order to protect the victim, grabbed the woman by the hair and dragged her around the living room.

At one point, while dragging her, he grabbed a necklace around her neck and ripped it off, causing several welts on the woman’s neck.

The whole time, the man was holding the couple’s baby in his other arm.

The man was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Tuesday with disorderly conduct – domestic abuse, a Class B misdemeanor. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 90 days of imprisonment and $1,000 in fines.

His initial court date is scheduled for March 5.
