Man Accused of Spitting On Cop Charged with Felony

A disorderly conduct ticket quickly escalated into a felony charge for a 20-year-old Milwaukee man police say spit in a Greenfield officer's face.

A disorderly conduct ticket quickly escalated into a felony charge for a 20-year-old Milwaukee man police say spit in a Greenfield officer's face. 

Kevin Rickey was charged May 29 in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with one count of spitting at a police officer.

Court documents say on May 6 a Greenfield police officer responded to a report of a disorderly man at a group home at 8405 W. Forest Home Ave. A therapist told police Rickey had struck in him the head, and after interviewing witnesses, police decided to issue a citation for disorderly conduct.

Rickey then attempted to spit on the police officer missing the first time, but hitting the officer in the face on the second attempt. 

If convicted, he could face up to three years and six months imprisonment, $10,000 in fines, or both.

Rickey’s initial court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.
