Man Accused of Stealing a Wallet From the YMCA

Police say the suspect admits to the theft and said he used stolen credit cards at area stores.

A 19-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of stealing a wallet and other items from a man at the YMCA.

Anthony L. Harris was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Monday with one count of theft. If convicted, he faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines.

At 9 p.m. Nov. 14, a man was at the YMCA when he realized someone had stolen his wallet, credit cards, personal items and $160 cash from the facility. The credit cards were later used to purchase goods at area stores.

Harris was interviewed by Greenfield police officers and he admitted to taking the wallet and using the cards to make purchases.

He will make his initial appearance in court Thursday.
