Man Accused of Stealing Catalytic Converters From Area Businesses

Glen Markeith Daniel, 30, of Milwaukee admits to stealing items off of vehicles parked at businesses in West Allis and Greenfield.

A 30-year-old Milwaukee man is facing charges after he allegedly stole catalytic convertors off of vehicles at numerous area businesses.

Glen Markeith Daniel was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with two counts of theft. If convicted, he faces up to 18 months in prison and $20,000 in fines.

From August through October 2011, Daniel went to various area businesses in West Allis and Greenfield and stole catalytic convertors off of vans. Businesses hit included Jader Carpet, Quality Calibration and .

Daniel was interviewed by police about the thefts and he said “I know I (expletive) up. The crime was committed, I stole the catalytic convertors.”

He told officers he stole convertors from so many businesses he couldn’t remember all of them. Daniel also said he took the items plus other car parts to IRT Recycling in October 2011 and got $3,000 for the items.

Daniel will make his initial appearance in court Sept. 18.
