Man Avoids Charges Despite Separating Boy's Shoulder, Police Say

A 20-year-old Greenfield man avoided felony child abuse charges after he was accused of separating his girlfriend’s 17-year-old brother’s shoulder, police said.

According to the Greenfield Police Department report, the 20-year-old and his 24-year-old girlfriend got into an argument in the couple’s apartment in the 3600 block of South Rivershire Drive on Sept. 15.

The woman’s 17-year-old brother, who also lives with the couple, intervened by sticking up for his sister. The fight continued until the woman’s boyfriend grabbed her brother’s arm and shoved him into a wall, separating his shoulder, according to the report.
