Man Caught With Loaded Gun in His Car
Suspect with gang tattoos told Greenfield police officer he carries a gun to protect himself.
A 30-year-old Milwaukee man is facing charges after he was caught driving through Greenfield with a loaded handgun and a bag of marijuana.
Artemio Marin-Sanchez was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Thursday with one count of possession of a firearm by a felon and one count of possession of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. If convicted, he faces up to 10 ½ years in prison and $26,000 in fines.

On Monday, a Greenfield police officer pulled Marin-Sanchez over in the 4200 block of South 27th Street and immediately noticed numerous gang tattoos on him. Marin-Sanchez agreed to a pat down and the officer found a baggie of marijuana in his pocket.
The officer then searched the car and found a loaded handgun. Marin-Sanchez admitted the gun was his, saying he used to be in a gang and carries the gun for protection because a lot of other people in his neighborhood do too.

He’s currently being held in Milwaukee County Jail while awaiting trial.
