On Dec. 2, the caretaker for a building that used to house Drug Emporium, 6251 S. 27th St., called police after he went into the building to winterize it and noticed $5,000 worth of copper pipes were missing. The man said he’s the only person who goes into the building, but officers found a black knit cap left at the scene.

Police performed a DNA test on the cap, which was then traced back to Davis. He will make his initial appearance in court April 3.
