Man Charged in Thefts After His Mother Turns Him In to Police
The suspect had items stolen from three unlocked cars and said he took a bicycle that he found near a gas station.
A 23-year-old Milwaukee man is facing charges after police officers in Greenfield inside his mother’s home.
Brian E. Wallace was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Thursday with three counts of receiving stolen property. If convicted, he faces up to 27 months in prison and $30,000 in fines.

Police officers were called to Wallace’s mother’s home in the 7400 block of West Tripoli Avenue after she discovered her son was keeping stolen items inside. She said he was bringing numerous items into the home and she didn’t want them there.
Greenfield police officers inspected the items and discovered a wallet stolen out of a car on May 23 while it was parked in the 4100 block of South 88th Street, a wallet sleeve taken out of a car on May 27 that was parked in the 6700 block of West Forest Home Avenue and a GPS charging cord taken out of a car parked near Wallace’s mother’s home.

Wallace told police officers he also took a bicycle he found near a gas station, which was valued at $200. He admitted to the thefts, saying he was looking for “quick money.”
The bike was recovered by officers and returned to its rightful owner.
According to the incident log, Wallace was arrested for retail theft when he allegedly concealed cookies and ate a sandwich — a total value of $9.49 — at Pick N' Save on June 7. He is out of custody and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
