Man Charged With Allegedly Forcing Sex on Teenage Girl in Sendik's Parking Lot

James L. Stanchfield of St. Francis allegedly forced a Greenfield teenager into having sex. She told him to go away after he talked about shooting his ex in the head and burning down her house, according to the criminal complaint.

A 30-year-old St. Francis man is facing felony charges after he allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old girl in the backseat of his car in the parking lot of a Greenfield grocery store.

James L. Stanchfield was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Friday with one count of child enticement and one count of sexual intercourse with a child more than 16 years old. If convicted, he faces up to 26 years in prison and $110,000 in fines.

The victim told police she knew Stanchfield because he is friends with her older brothers. She began chatting with him via Skype, text message and telephone while he was living in Arizona. He came to visit the girl in January or February, and told her about his ex-girlfriend who he gave up “everything” for. He said she cheated on him, so he wanted to put a bullet in her head and burn her house down.

At that time the girl’s father told Stanchfield to not contact the teen anymore.

In March, Stanchfield told the victim he was coming back from Arizona because he loved her and wanted to make their relationship work. The girl said to not do that because she didn’t want anything to do with him.

On April 4, Stanchfield pressured the girl to sneak out of the house and then picked her up and drove to where he began to kiss her and eventually force sex on the girl, who protested it saying she wasn’t ready.

After the incident Stanchfield became possessive of the victim and would yell at her for spending time with friends, so she had a restraining order taken out against him, which he violated in June.

Stanchfield is currently being held in Milwaukee County Jail on $3,250 bond.
