Man Charged With Stealing $23K in Rings From Kmart
Suspect was caught the next day after trying to pull the same caper at a Racine store.
A 45-year-old Racine man is facing charges after he allegedly stole more than $20,000 in rings from a Greenfield department store.
Steven Mack was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Thursday with one count of theft of more than $10,000. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison and $25,000 in fines.

On Sept. 29, Mack and another man went into , 4601 S. 27th St., and took a tray of rings from inside a display case when a cashier had her back turned. He then tucked the rings — which had a value of $23,683 — under his shirt and walked out the door.
The next day police were called about the crime and a security officer with the store told them a .

The officer was able to positively identify Mack as the man seen taking the rings from the Greenfield store.
Mack is scheduled to make his initial appearance in court Jan. 30.
