Man Takes $15,000 in Lotto Tickets, $2,600 in Cigarettes from Gas Station

The suspect allegedly burglarized Forest Home Beer and Liquor on July 2. A similar incident occurred in Franklin on Monday.

A burglary suspect who made off with more than $2,600 worth of cigarettes and $15,000 in scratch-off lottery tickets from a Greenfield gas station July 2 is still on the loose.

And he may have struck again this week in Franklin.

"We think he's responsible for several similar incidents in the area," Greenfield Police Sgt. Ray Radakovich said.

According to the report, the suspect forced entry through the front door of , 5612 W. Forest Home Ave., at 3 a.m. July 2.

Survelliance video shows that once inside, the man, described as a black male in his late 30s to mid-40s with a bald head and glasses, removed a large blue mesh bag and went behind the counter and fills it with numerous cartons and packs of Newport cigarettes.

As the suspect made his way toward the front entrance, he is seen grabbing a lottery ticket display, filled with scratch-off tickets, off the counter.

According to the video, the man was in the store for just 2 minutes, but grabbed approximately 35 cartons of cigarettes valued at $67.99 each and approximately 40 packs of cigarettes worth $6.79 each.

Almost exactly one week to the day – almost right down to the minute – a suspect matching the description of the man in the Greenfield incident tape, entered Mobil Gas Station II, 7103 S. 27th Street, at 3:18 a.m. July 9, according to Franklin NOW.

Franklin NOW reports the man made off with approximately $400 in Newport cigarettes, $100 in Bic lighters and nearly $2,900 worth of tickets in a Wisconsin Lottery ticket dispenser.
