Mom Allows Four Young Children to Shoplift, Police Say

The children's ages ranged from 5 to 14, and their mother was arrested after they concealed more than $400 in items from Best Buy, according to the police report.

A 33-year-old Milwaukee woman is accused of bringing her four children on a shoplifting spree at Best Buy on Nov. 8.

Only she wasn’t the one doing the stealing.

According to the Greenfield Police Department report, the woman was arrested for retail theft in the parking lot of Red Lobster shortly after the she was caught on video surveillance allowing her children to conceal video games and cell phone cases in their backpacks across the street at Best Buy at around 5 p.m.

Her 14-year-old daughter was also cited for retail theft for helping the woman’s 5-year-old daughter, 7-year-old son and 12-year-old son conceal more than $400 worth of items.

The woman’s children were released to her sister and the Department of Social Services was informed of the incident, according to police.
