One Dead in Two-Vehicle Crash Just Outside Greenfield

The accident happened early Wednesday morning on 27th Street.

One person is dead Wednesday morning following a two-vehicle crash on 27th Street involving a moving truck and a minivan, according to several news outlets.

The driver of the minivan was killed when that vehicle slammed into the moving truck at a high rate of speed just across the Greenfield border in Milwaukee near Grange Avenue, according to FOX 6 News.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's office was called to the scene around 7 a.m., and the accident occured around 6:15 a.m., according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

According to a Greenfield Facebook user, the van was "speeding on 27th and Parnell. It was going at an excessive rate. It whizzed by the other cars. Then we heard the crash. Riding by it on the bus was awful."

The Greenfield Police Department was on the scene directing traffic, according to Chief Brad Wentlandt.
