Police Blotter: Gas Drive-offs Surprisingly Low

The Greenfield Police Department responded to just one reported gas drive-off between March 12-18, but there was no shortage of other calls during that period.

Despite the rising gas prices, the responded to just one gas-theft call during the week of March 12-18.

At approximately 6 p.m. March 13, an employee of reported a customer drove off without paying for $68.78 in gas.

  • A 39-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were taken into custody for alleged possession of heroin at at 4:30 p.m. March 12.
  • A 49-year-old woman was taken into custody for battery after allegedly punching and slapping her boyfriend in the 4600 block of South Woodland Drive at 10:20 p.m. March 12.
  • A 24-year-old woman was taken into custody for alleged possession of marijuana at 9:50 a.m. March 13, after her vehicle struck a parked car in the 5800 block of West Cold Spring Road.
  • A 50-year old man was arrested for alleged second offense drunk driving after his involvement in a car accident in the 3800 block of South 108th Street at 2 a.m. March 14.
  • Greenfield and Milwaukee police responded to gunshots being fired in the 3700 block of South 33rd Street at 10 p.m. March 14. No injuries were reported but police did find shell casings in the street. No arrests have been made.
  • A 40-year-old woman was taken into custody for disorderly conduct for allegedly displaying a rifle during an argument with a fellow resident in an apartment complex in the 6600 block of West Barnard Ave at 2 p.m. March 15.
  • An 18-year-old boy was arrested for alleged battery after hitting another boy in the face several times outside of at 2:45 p.m. March 14. The suspect was later apprehended at .
